TROUBLE SHOOTING
This chapter lists some of the more common problems you may encounter while using your
phone. Some problems require assistance from your dealer or service provider, but most can be
easily corrected by diagnosing the problem and attempting the solutions as detailed below.
1. Enter PIN appears when powering on.
PIN check is currently enabled. You must enter the PIN supplied together with your SIM card. To
disable the PIN, please see Security Settings menu.
2. The Insert SIM screen appears when powering on.
Please check that your SIM card is inserted correctly.
3. Enter Lock Code appears when powering on.
The phone lock has been activated. You must enter the Lock Code supplied together with your
phone.
4. No Service appears.
You are probably in an out of the coverage area of a GSM/DCS network.
5. A tone is not generated when you press the keypad.
Check to see if your phone has the Silent Mode function on.
Check the Alert Type and Volume in the Key Tone menu.
Check your Profiles menu.
6. There is no audible tone or alert when a call is received.
Check to see if your phone has the Silent Mode function on.
Check the Alert Type and Volume in the Incoming Calls menu.
Check your Profiles menu.
7. There is no audible tone or alert when the alarm is active.
Check to see if your phone has the Silent Mode function on.
8. Outgoing calls cannot be made.
Check to see if you have barred outgoing calls.
9. Incoming calls are not received.
Check to see if you have barred incoming calls.
10. SMS messages are not sent.
Check the Message Centre option in Message Setup menu.
11. Audible key tones are muted and all audible alerts are changed to vibrator alert.
Check to see if your phone has the Silent Mode function on.
12. If some menus relevant to the sound are not visible on the Sound Setting menu.
Check to see if your phone has the Silent Mode function on.
