The lock code enables you to activate and deactivate your phone. When the lock
code is on, you cannot access most of your phone’s memory or menu features.
Also, you cannot make phone calls without first entering the lock code.
Note: If you save the unlocked phone number, you can make calls without
entering the lock code. Refer to “Store an unlocked phone number”.
With the lock code on, your phone locks when you switch it off. The next time you
switch your phone on, it asks you for a lock code when you press either
NAMES
or
MENU
.
Note: If you enter an incorrect lock code five times in a row, your phone
prompts you for the security code.
The default lock code is 12345.
FMTD-38900 recommends that you change this code immediately.

When your phone is locked, it will be possible to place a call to the emergency
number programmed into your phone, such as 911 or any other official
emergency number. You can either dial this emergency number or press the
emergency
(if you have activated to act as an emergency
key). You can also store a number in the Unlocked phone number location.
This allows you to call the number even though your phone is locked.
