CHANGE BATTERY Procedure
SUPPLIED VEHICLE
BATTERY BATTERY
REMOVAL CHANGE
- Press the “FUNCTION” button ( g. A.22) to select
the SUPPLY function ( g. A.12);
- if necessary or requested by the vehicle
manufacturer speci cations, customise the
voltage and/or current values as indicated above;
- press the “VOLT” button ( g. A.21) to select the
battery voltage ( g. A.1);
- connect the clamps to the relative vehicle battery
terminals;
- change the battery paying particular attention
not to disconnect the clamps from the vehicle
terminals so as not to lose the electronic settings.
3.7 START - STARTER AID (if foreseen)
START mode ( g. A.15), if foreseen, is available
for 12V batteries and supplies 70 A current as a
starter aid. If the battery is completely run down,
it is advisable to perform a precharge cycle before
proceeding.

3.7.1 Procedure
- Press and hold the “MODE” button ( g. A.23) for 3
seconds to select the “START” function;
- connect the vehicle battery terminal clamps (the
ashing message “Go” appears on the display ( g.
A.1);
- now start the vehicle; a 30 second timer will
engage and will appear on the display ( g. A.1),
at the end of which it will be possible to start the
engine again;
- on completing the selected process, disconnect
the power cable from the mains socket and
disconnect the clamps from the battery terminals.

3.8 ALARMS
The alarms are displayed by a graph symbol ( g. A
.3) when there is a pole inversion, short circuit, low
or faulty battery.
The alarms will appear on the display ( g. A.2) and
have the following meanings:
AL1: Pole inversion and short circuit;
AL2: Battery voltage incompatible with operator’s
choice;
AL3: PULSE TRONIC charge: start of maximum
time Desulfation Phase 2 - battery not recoverable;
AL4: PULSE TRONIC charge: start of maximum
time Analyse Phase 3 - battery not recoverable;
AL5: PULSE TRONIC charge: start of maximum
time Main Charge Phase 4 - battery not recoverable;
AL6: PULSE TRONIC charge: start of maximum
time Verify Phase 6 - battery not recoverable;
AL7: PULSE TRONIC charge: start of maximum
time LCC - battery not recoverable;
AL8: PULSE TRONIC charge: start of maximum
time Pulse Tronic Phase 8 - battery not recoverable;
AL9: Short circuit in Supply / Diagnostic /
Equalization functions;
