11.5.4 Example
Scenario
Michael bought an AC10/AC10U for network. He finds unknown devices in module Attached Devices of the
router. But he hopes to allow only devices owned by his family members to access the internet through the
router.
Solution
The Filter MAC Address function of the router can address this requirement.
Assume that the devices owned by his family members have following MAC addresses:
4C:CC:6A:AD:14:53
14:5F:94:BC:FC:81
1C:5C:F2:B4:40:01
Procedures:
1. To access the configuration page, click Advanced Settings > Filter MAC Address.
2. MAC Address Filter Mode: Select Whitelist.
3. Whitelisted Device: Enter name of the device allowed to connect to the router, which is Phone-1 in this
example.
4. MAC Address: Enter MAC address of the device allowed to connect to the router, which is
14:5F:94:BC:FC:81 in this example.
5. Click +New.
