Installation Instructions for Kit number 378768

SYNOPSIS / PROBLEM:

This kit contains the parts needed to install a main brush down pressure kit

on the model 6080 and 3640 sweepers. Please follow step-by-step instructions.

SPECIAL TOOLS / CONSIDERATIONS: Hand drill, .090 inch drill bit

(Estimated time to complete: 1 hour)

INSTALLATION:

(Refer to FIG. 1)

FOR SAFETY: Before leaving or servicing machine, stop on level surface and set parking

brake. Then turn off machine and remove key.

1. Position the brush travel limiter bracket (1) on the right side plastic handle. (Refer to FIG. 1)

2. Place the front edge of the bracket (1) front edge of the brush lever slot in the blue plastic

handle. (Refer to FIG. 1)

3. Line up the down ward edge of the bracket (1) with the top edge of the steel brush lever

mount plate. (Refer to FIG. 1)

4. Mark the two mount holes in the right hand plastic handle. Drill two holes to .090 inch.

5. Use the two screws (2) to mount the new bracket (1). Hand tighten the hardware.

(Refer to FIG. 1)

6. Push the main brush lever forward to position 1 to check the new bracket (1) for proper

operation. (Refer to FIG. 1)

7. Check the brush pattern with the handle in position 1. The pattern should be about 2.00

inches. If the pattern is tapered more than 1/4 inch----adjust the brush pattern.

MACHINE OPERATION: Lower the brush lift lever to the position shown in FIG. 1 for

smooth surfaces or force the lever past the first tab on the travel limiter bracket

for rough surfaces. The extra tabs are to be used only when the brush is worn to

six inches or less.

(2) (1) POSITION 1 (2) NEW BRACKET EDGE TO EDGE STEEL PLATE BLUE PLASTIC TO ADJUST PATTERN : Go to the back of the machine and locate the left hand brush arm. Loosen the hex screw and nut holding the left brush arm to the brush shaft. Move the left brush arm up or down in the slot to achieve an even brush pattern.
