Copyright © Terabee 2016 1.3 Details on Supply Voltage The TeraRanger Distance OSD needs an external power supply with voltages ranging from 10V to 20V. It has an internal voltage regulator for an optimised functioning. However, to minimise unnecessary heating, we advise the use of a preregulator down to 10V. For optimal efficiency, this should be a switching regulator (either buck or boost, depending on the supply voltage available on your system) with a large output capacitor and good filtering. 1.

Copyright © Terabee 2016 1.5 Connect your Distance OSD via USB Interface For product configuration or firmware updates, connect the TeraRanger Distance OSD to your computer using the micro-USB cable. Be aware that you cannot power the Distance OSD via USB. In order to connect it to your computer, make sure that it is connected to a suitable power supply via the supplied power cable. Windows Users, please download the driver from here and follow the Readme file and the installer.

Copyright © Terabee 2016 1.7 Normal Operation Once you power-on the TeraRanger Distance OSD, it will search for connected TeraRanger One sensors. A GREEN LED will flash for each connected sensor on the board. It can take few seconds before the distance values become available on the screen. For a sensor to be recognised by the Distance OSD it is essential that each connected sensor reads a distance to a target during the boot-up process.

Copyright © Terabee 2016 2.1 Basic configuration First of all connect the powered TeraRanger Distance OSD via USB to your computer. Select the right Com port in the list. If this is not present press the refresh button. Next, click on the connection button. You might need to wait a few seconds after powering the OSD to give it time to boot up.

Copyright © Terabee 2016 To choose which connected sensors you want to be present on the video feed, you just need to check or uncheck the corresponding checkbox. For each of the displayed sensors you can also set-up offset distances. The position on the screen of each connected sensor can be modified by moving the label which represents it wherever on the grid you wish with a simple drag and drop operation. Two video modes are available (NTSC and PAL).

When a threshold distance is breached the distance data for that sensor will display in a flashing mode until the threshold has been re-established. CONGRATULATIONS !
