The integrated safety grid prevents contact of the patient or the operator with the
plasma source integrated into the plasma source unit, while it produces plasma.
An unambiguous identification of the attached spacer is enabled via an integrated
RFID-transponder. After using the spacer, it is marked as “invalid” and cannot be used
for any further treatments. In case of an invalid spacer, the plasma care® device can-
not be activated.
With one spacer a maximum of 6 plasma treatments can be performed on a single
patient. The use of a spacer on more than one patient is not permitted due to the cross-
contamination risk.
6.4 User interface
The user interface indicates the system status and is used for controlling the device. The follow-
ing status displays are possible:
On / Off (white):
By exerting extended pressure, the plasma care® is switched on or off. If the plasma care® is
switched on, the On / Off button will glow white.
