With the humidity probe 0636 2135 and the protective PTFE caps in combination with a
compatible testo measuring instrument, it is possible to carry out an equilibrium moisture
measurement.
Equipment required for the equilibrium moisture measurement:
· For recording measurement values: humidity measuring instrument testo 635-1 or -2 with
integrated material selection (material-specific characteristics curves are stored in the
database) and integrated moisture calculation
· For measuring material moisture: humidity probe 0636 2135
· For drilling holes for the measurement: electric drill with drill-bit, 6-6.5mm diameter
Equilibrium moisture measurement
- For recording accurate measurement results the following requirements have to be
complied with:
· The protective PTFE cap on the probe top must not be dirty or clogged. If need be, it can
be cleaned (by blowing it out with compressed air) or replaced (remove protective cap
and replace with a new one).
· In the measuring instrument the function for the calculation of moisture must be
activated and the material of the object to be measured must be selected. For this please
refer to the documentation that comes with the instrument.
1 Drill a hole into the material with a depth of at least 4cm and a diameter of 6-6.5mm.
2 Connect the humidity probe and switch the instrument on.
3 Place the humidity probe in the measuring hole and close the hole with sticking plasticine.
4 A waiting period is required until the micro climate in the drill hole has adapted to the
material-specific conditions again and the measuring instrument displays a stable
measuring value (this can take up to 30 minutes, depending on the material type and
moisture content).
5 The moisture value is displayed.
