Troubleshooting
The following advice should help you to solve problems. If this doesn’t work, the extensive FAQs on our website will sure-
ly provide you with support. Otherwise, please contact our hotline (see page 3). Take note of the warranty instructions.
Problem Possible cause Solution
The device doesnt work,
the display is dark.
No power supply. Check that the power plug is properly seated.
Check the function of the socket with another
device.
No CD/DVD/BD playback. No disc inserted. Insert a CD/DVD/BD.
Disc inserted upside down. Insert the disc with the labelled side up.
Region code of the DVD/BD does not cor-
respond to the device.
Insert DVD/BD with the correct region code.
CD/DVD/BD damaged or dirty. Clean or change disc.
Condensation in the device. Remove the disc and do not use the device for
one to two hours.
No picture The television is not turned on. Turn on the television.
The wrong AV input jack has been se-
lected on the television.
Select the right AV input jack on the television
(e.g. HDMI 1).
Incorrect HDMI resolution set on the
receiver.
Check the settings and if necessary, change
them ( see page “Display” menu). To get a
picture, create a video link to the television
set via 21 VIDEO (see page 11) if applicable.
The connector cable is incorrectly wired or
loose.
Correct the cable connections.
Connector cable damaged. Replace the connector cable.
Picture fuzzy/distorted. CD/DVD/BD damaged or dirty. Clean or change disc.
Incorrect colour standard (PAL/NTSC) set
on the television or receiver.
Set the colour standard (PAL/NTSC) again
(page 15). PAL is the correct standard in Ger-
many and Western Europe (except France).
Fault caused by interconnected devices
such as video recorders.
Connect the devices directly.
Picture format of the receiver has the
wrong setting.
Set the picture format correctly (see page 15).
“NO DISC” on the display CD/DVD/BD damaged, dirty, incompatible
or inserted the wrong way around.
Clean or change disc.
Skipping to the next track
or chapter doesn’t work.
Some DVDs do not permit skipping, for
example during the warning notice at the
beginning.
Continue playback.
The DVD only has one chapter. Alternative: Fast playback.
No audio output or not
all audio channels are
audible.
Speaker incorrectly wired. Check and correct wiring.
Audio settings incorrect.
Set the audio correctly (see page 15 and 18).
Incorrect disc audio track selected.
Push the button 56Audio” and select another
audio language.
Receiver muted (“MUTE”).
Push the button 39 to deactivate mute.
The playback speed is accelerated or
slowed down.
Push the PLAY button to switch to normal
playback.
