1.4.7 Connecting to a LAN To connect to a LAN (Local Area Network) you require a cat5, cat5e or cat6 network cable (not supplied). 1. Connect one of the crystal plugs on the cable to the player’s RJ45 LAN socket; 2. Connect the other crystal plug on the cable to a RJ45 LAN port on your router, switch, or hub devices. 1.4.8 Connecting to a WLAN 1. Setup Menu The Setup menu allows you to personalize and configure the preferences for your player. 3.1.2 Channel Scan • Select to scan for available Digital Terrestrial TV channels To select a Setup option: 1. Select the Setup icon on the home screen, or press the SETUP button on the remote control. 3.1.2.1 AUTO SCAN 2.Use the LEFT/RIGHT navigational buttons to select an option, and then press ENTER. In AUTO SCAN mode, the system will automatically scan for available DVB-T TV channels. 3.1.2.
3.1.3 Channel Set • Select to edit channel information. 3.3 Changing Video Settings Use this menu to configure video settings. 3.3.1 Aspect Ratio In this menu, you can edit the Name, and sequence for the DVB-T TV channels. Use the navigational buttons to select and modify the settings,and press the ENTER button to confirm. You can also press the blue button to select Sort. 3.2 Changing Audio Settings Use this menu to configure audio settings 3.2.
3.3.7 1080P 24FPS Playback of commercially-available DVDs reaches 25 frames per second. If only 24 frames are available, the playback may appear somewhat choppy. If this is the case, turn the option “1080P 24FPS” ON. 3.4 Changing Record Settings 3.4.1 Quality Select to set the default recording quality setting. 3.3.8 Picture size If you confirm this menu item with the ENTER KEY, a red frame will appear on the television. Adjust the frame size with the arrow buttons so that the frame is just visible.
3.5 Changing Network Settings Use this menu to configure Ethernet and WLAN (Wireless Local Area Network) settings. 3.5.1 Wired LAN Setup DHCP IP (Auto) Select to obtain IP address automatically. Typical situation: A household with an existing internet connection via a preconfigured DSL router. In this case, the DSL has an integrated DHCP service, which is pre-configured and working properly. In this case, you only need to select the item “DHCP Auto”, the required IP will be found automatically on the network.

The connection is then tested automatically and the MS 6 IP address you selected appears, if successful, as an entry on the right next to the item “LAN setup”. 3.5.2 WLAN network connection and setup If you have secured your wireless network twice (encryption AND MAC address filtering), you have to perform the following important steps (see MAC filtering below).
3.5.2.2 Performing WLAN settings 1. First plug the enclosed “Wireless USB adapter” into one of the USB ports on the side. 2.Under the item “Network” in setup, select the item “WLAN setup” and press ENTER. 3. Now select the profile “Connection1”. 3.5.2.3 Connection modes Three connection modes are available: – Infrastruktur (AP): In this mode, network devices such as the MediaStation 6 or notebooks (also referred to as WLAN clients) can be connected to a wireless radio receiver (WLAN access point).
– Manually: If you have configured your WLAN to not send its SSID (SSID broadcast is deactivated – the automatic search returns no result), you have to use the manual search. For this, select the entry “Manually” and confirm with ENTER. 4. MAIN Menu 4.1 DTV-Menu In this menu, you can watch and record Digital Terrestrial TV programs, or have the time shift function. To enter the DVB-T TV mode, select the DTV icon on the main menu (button HOME). The following are some functional buttons on the remote control available when watching Digital TV programs. 4.7 P2P Share Menu Select the P2P Share icon on the main menu. You can see the status of torrents download progress and configure the BT download settings in this menu. Press LEFT/RIGHT button to enter into download menu and BT setup menu. 4.7.1 Add a torrent Locate your torrent file in Browser menu, then press MENU button to add the torrent to start downloading. 4.7.2 Download Menu After add the BT torrent files, the download progress can be displayed in this menu.
4.7.3 BT Setup Menu In the BT Setup menu, you can configure the following settings. Use UP/DOWN and ENTER to change the settings. – Set the maximum download rate. – Set the maximum upload rate. – Set the idle hours to start the next download automatically. – Set the seeding hours. – Set to delete the finished torrent files automatically or not. – Set the maximum number of simultaneous download tasks. 4.7.
4.8 IMS (Internet Multimedia Service) Menu This feature is additional function. All contents and services under this feature are provided by third-party service providers, our company does not offer any contents and services of this feature and it not responsible for any contents and services provided under this feature.
4.10 Host-Name Here, you enter a name for the MS6 that makes the device visible on the network. This way, you can also enter the host name instead of the IP address when accessing the internal hard-drive: e.g. “\\MS6\” in Windows Explorer or “http://MS6/” in Internet Explorer. Under windows vista and windows 7,pls type:\\192.168.0.9 on search bar, then press the Enter button on the keyboard. Then you can view, and edit the files stored on the hard disk installed on the player.
5. Upgrading the Firmware The firmware is the operating system (OS) installed on the device. Firmware upgrades can bring new features, improvements and bug fixes. 3. Plug the power cable into the DC IN jack, wait for about 5 seconds or more, and then loosen your finger on the power / standby button; 1. Copy ‘install.img’ or extension files to the root directory of a USB stick, and connect it to the USB HOST port of the player. 2.Press and hold the power / standby button on the front panel, and do not loosen.
6.2 Frequently Asked Questions Question 1. When I try to disconnect the USB device, I keep on getting “The device ‘Generic volume’ cannot be stopped right now. Try stopping the device again later.” message, what should I do? Answer: Close any program that might be accessing data on the player, including Windows® Explorer. If it does not work, close all programs and wait for another 20 seconds, then try the green arrow icon again.
Question 8. I cannot get SSID name, the screen always displays: ‘Can’t get any SSID!!’ Answer: When the WLAN USB Adapter is connected to the player, it needs some time to get initialized. Please wait for about 1~2 minutes and try refreshing the SSID list again. Question 9. I cannot see files shared on my computer via Browser->Network menu. Answer: Please check following items: 1. Connect the player to network and obtain an IP address first; 2.Please enable NetBIOS of TCP/IP on computer; 3.
Question 14. Some functions like recording, time shift etc. do not work. What should I do?
