FEATURES
DESCRIPTION
The LP2998 linear regulator is designed to meet
2
AEC-Q100 Test Guidance with the following
JEDEC SSTL-2 and JEDEC SSTL-18 specifications
results (SO PowerPAD-8):
for termination of DDR1-SDRAM and DDR-II
Device HBM ESD Classification Level H1C
memory. The device contains a high-speed
Junction Temperature Range –40°C to
operational amplifier to provide excellent response to
load transients. The output stage prevents shoot
125°C
through while delivering 1.5A continuous current as
Source and Sink Current
required for DDR1-SDRAM termination, and 0.5A
Low Output Voltage Offset
continuous current as required for DDR-II termination.
No External Resistors Required
The LP2998 also incorporates a V
SENSE
pin to provide
superior load regulation and a V
REF
output as a
Linear Topology
reference for the chipset and DIMMs.
Suspend to Ram (STR) Functionality
An additional feature found on the LP2998 is an
Low External Component Count
active low shutdown (SD) pin that provides Suspend
Thermal Shutdown
To RAM (STR) functionality. When SD is pulled low,
Available in SOIC-8, SO PowerPAD-8 Packages
the V
TT
output will tri-state providing a high
impedance output, while V
REF
remains active. A
power savings advantage can be obtained in this
APPLICATIONS
mode through lower quiescent current.
DDR-I, DDR-II and DDR-III Termination Voltage
SSTL-18, SSTL-2, and SSTL-3 Termination
