SLVS930A DECEMBER 2009 REVISED FEBRUARY 2012
DUAL CHANNEL PRECISION ADJUSTABLE CURRENT-LIMITED POWER SWITCHES
Check for Samples: TPS2560, TPS2561

FEATURES
DESCRIPTION
2
Two separate current limiting channels
The TPS2560 and TPS2561 are dual-channel
Meets USB Current-Limiting Requirements
power-distribution switches intended for applications
Adjustable Current Limit, 250 mA2.8 A (typ)
where precision current limiting is required or heavy
capacitive loads and short circuits are encountered.
+/- 7.5% Current-Limit Accuracy at 2.8A
These devices offer a programmable current-limit
Fast Overcurrent Response - 3.5-μS (typ)
threshold between 250 mA and 2.8 A (typ) per
Two 44-m High-Side MOSFETs
channel via an external resistor. The power-switch
rise and fall times are controlled to minimize current
Operating Range: 2.5 V to 6.5 V
surges during turn on/off.
2-μA Maximum Standby Supply Current
Each channel of the TPS2560/61 devices limit the
Built-in Soft-Start
output current to a safe level by switching into a
15 kV / 8 kV System-Level ESD Capable
constant-current mode when the output load exceeds
UL Listed File No. E169910
the current-limit threshold. The FAULTx logic output
for each channel independently asserts low during
CB & Nemko Certified
overcurrent and over temperature conditions.
APPLICATIONS
USB Ports/Hubs
Digital TV
Set-Top Boxes
VOIP Phones
