When RESET is active, triggered by the voltage monitored at VDD, the quiescent current increases to about 20 μA (see the Electrical Characteristics). In some applications it is necessary to minimize the quiescent current even during the reset period.

When the supervising system fails to retrigger the watchdog circuit within the time-out interval, RESET becomes active for the time period (tD). This event also reinitializes the watchdog timer.
