Q: Does this have a latching system as part of the package or is it available?
A: Yes, this Door will come with a catch point at the bottom of the door. This can be adjusted to make
the door easier or harder to open and close.
Q: Does the original door frame in a house need to come off?
A: Yes, the original door frame or jamb needs to be removed and replaced with the included jamb that
comes with the door.
Q: What is the finish on the doors on the opposite side from the shelves? (AKA the back of the door).
A: The Door will come finished just like the shelf side of the door. Meaning, if you have a stained or
painted door, the backside will also be stained or painted.
Q: Does it come with the special bookend you need to pull to open the secret passage??
A: No, this will be something that you will need to create. We have had several customers who have
designed very creative opening and locking options.
Q: Can you open the door from the inside?
A: Yes, the doors can be opened from the front as well as the back of the door.
Q: How much weight will each unit support?
A: The Doors are designed to carry an additional 300 Pounds. We have designed them to be functional
as well as elegant.
Q: How does it open? Is there a handle? Want to be sure no one can get stuck inside hidden room!
A: The door does not come standard with a handle to open the Door. If it is an inswing door, you will just
push on the face frame, and the door will open. For an outswing door you will pull on the fixed shelf, or
the face frame near the fixed shelf, and the door will pull open.
Q: Can these doors be configured for in-swing entry versus out-swing?
A: Yes, these Doors are completely customizable, and the swing options can be selected to best fit your
application. From inswing to outswing, and from left hand to right hand hinging.
Q: Is this door just as sound dampening as any average interior room door? Or is it more/less?
A: The doors will be just as sound dampening as an average door. But depending on what you are
placing on your shelves, it may be more or less dampening than a standard interior door.
