Installation Guide:
There are 2 options when installing the L Bracket:
onto a knee/pony wall OR
into the back of a cabinet, reinforced with a 2"x6"
ONTO A KNEE/PONY WALL
Locate your studs in the knee/pony
wall & space the brackets with the
studs on the knee/pony wall. It is
important that the vertical piece of
the L Bracket be mounted into each
stud in the knee/pony wall, in order
for the L Bracket to support &
protect the weight of the
countertop.
Step #1:
Step #2:
Once your studs are located, rout or chisel out a 2.5" wide by 0.5" deep
"pocket" at the top of the knee/pony wall, above each stud in the knee/pony
wall.
Step #3:
Insert the horizontal piece of the L Bracket into the "pocket" you created.
This will allow the horizontal piece to lie inside the "pocket", with the vertical
piece going down the back side of the knee/pony wall.
Step #4:
Use the appropriate wood screws to attach the L Bracket to the knee/pony
wall. Make sure the L Bracket sits flush into the "pocket" you routed out, in
order for the L Bracket to be flush with the knee/pony wall; insuring the
countertop is level & protected.
Step #5:
Once the brackets are secured in place, place your countertop on top of the
brackets & simply caulk around the brackets with clear silicone.
