Installation Guide:
The L Bracket is designed to attach to
onto a knee/pony wall OR into the back of a cabinet, reinforced with 2"x6".
NOTE: These are the ONLY applications to be used for our L Bracket Countertop Support Bracket.
There are 2 options when installing the L Bracket:
onto a knee/pony wall OR
into the back of a cabinet reinforced, with a 2"x6"
INTO THE BACK OF A CABINET REINFORCED, WITH A 2"X6"
Install a 2"x6" to the inside back wall
of the cabinet- flush to the top of the
cabinet wall. It is important that the
L Bracket have a secure foundation
to mount into in order to support &
protect the weight of the countertop.
Step #1:
Step #2:
Start 6" from the edge & mark off the spacing of where the L Bracket will be
placed. We recommend 16"-20" apart for maximum countertop protection.
Step #3:
Rout or chisel out a 2.5" wide by 0.5" deep "pocket" on top of the 2"x6",
including the cabinet wall, at each of the bracket spacing found in Step #2.
Step #4:
Insert the horizontal piece of the L Bracket into the "pocket" you created.
This will allow the horizontal piece to lie flush inside the pocket, with the
vertical piece going down the 2"x6" you installed inside the back wall of the
cabinet.
Step #5:
Step #6:
Once the brackets are secured in place, place your countertop on top of the
brackets & simply caulk around the brackets with clear silicone.
Use the appropriate wood screws to attach the L Bracket to the 2"x6".
Make sure the L Bracket sits flush into the "pocket" you routed out, in order
for the L Bracket to be flush with the 2"x6"; insuring the countertop is level
& protected.
NOTE: We have provided screws HOWEVER make sure the length of the
provided screws are appropriate for your project. If not appropriate DO NOT use
the screws provided. Each project is different so protect your project by
measuring before you add the screws.
