10.3.3.2 Temperature handling flow chart
The only action taken by the BGAN XL Radio Module by itself is to reset if the
temperature gets critically high, as well as sending a message informing of the fact
(see section 8.5.6.1). It is up to the integrator to determine if power to the RM should
be completely shut off. These two actions can be overridden by using the configuration
parameters described in section 6.4.3.
It is recommended as a precautionary measure to limit the transmission data rate
when the ‘Too high’ event is generated. This can be done by using the configuration
parameter described in section 6.4.13. Additionally it is recommended at this point to
shut down any open streaming connections as well as disable the ability to create new
streaming connections while the temperature remains at a ‘Too high’ level. The
reduction in transmission rate does NOT affect streaming connections.
0x1010 Temperature too low (critical) -40 degree Celsius
0x1100 High temperature 70 degree Celsius
0x1120 Too high temperature warning 75 degree Celsius
0x1110 Temperature too high (critical) 84 degree Celsius
Note
Temperatures listed in the table above refer to the temperature measured by
the BGAN XL Radio Module (see section 6.4.3 on page 6-15).
