11.3.1.3.1 SPI MISO
The SPI MISO signal is sampled simultaneously with the transmission of the second
MOSI message as shown in the figure below. The content of the MISO message is
returned to the integrator for evaluation.
The figure above shows a scenario where all functionality of the RF control interface is
enabled. If e.g. .rfctrl.rx.ctrl.spi_en and .rfctrl.rx.ctrl.rx_ctrl_en configuration
parameters both are disabled, the B2B_SPI MOSI message will not be transmitted and
B2B_Rx_Ctrl will not be set high during the test.
11.3.2 RF Loop-back
The BGAN XL Radio Module offers functionality so that the integrator can perform a
simple loop-back test of the Tx and Rx L-band signals using an external loop-back
circuit.
When in service mode the integrator has the opportunity to transmit either a
Continuous Wave (CW) signal or an unframed modulated signal on a specific frequency
and with a certain power level (see section 11.7.2 on page 11-18). Likewise there is
access to the internal spectrum analyzer which can be configured to analyse a signal
injected at the Rx connector (see section 11.12 on page 11-32). The measured frequency
offset, phase noise and signal level will be returned to the integrator so that it can be
used for pass/fail validation.
