11.7 Integrator’s interface
The Integrator’s interface is an HTTP based interface to a number of functions relevant
to an entity implementing the BGAN XL Radio Module in a product.
The following functions are supported:
CW transmission
Unframed transmission
BGAN transmission
BGAN reception
Spectrum analyzer
Not all functions can be used concurrently, i.e. the three transmission functions are
mutually exclusive. Also the different functions are only supported in specific RM
modes.
The interface is a simple HTTP error code based interface where URLs with key/value
pairs are called, success/failure is returned, and the overall system state can be polled
as well, making this interface ideal for scripted access from a number of platforms.
11.7.1 Prerequisites
An HTTP client is needed. This could be a normal web browser, for testing, a CLI-based
HTTP client such as wget or curl for automation, or a library such as Python's
http.client for scripting.
Additionally, the BGAN XL Radio Module must be connected to a PC or an AP and the
CDC-EEM link needs to be up, providing Ethernet connectivity (see section 7.2).
11.7.2 Test signal generation
The BGAN XL Radio Module offers functionality so that the integrator can transmit
various test signals:
Transmission of a continuous wave signal (CW)
Transmission of an unframed modulated carrier with the possibility to specify:
Modulation schemes: /4-QPSK, 4-QAM, 16-QAM, 32-QAM or 64-QAM
Symbol rate: 16800, 33600, 67200, 84000, 151200 and 168000 S/s
Transmission of all BGAN-XL defined return bearers (including LDR and HDR) with
the possibility to specify:
•Tx frequency
Number of bursts to transmit
EIRP backoff
Data payload (random, zero-frame or one-frame)
