11.13 SIM lock
This section describes the SIM lock (or personalization lock) interface on the BGAN XL
Radio Module. Three different SIM lock types are supported. It is possible to lock the
user terminal to:
(2) A specific service provider by using the group identifier of the USIM card.
(3) A specific corporate SIM card owner by using the group identifier.
(4) A specific SIM card.
The values (2, 3 and 4) associated with the corresponding type of lock are used later in
this section in the description of the SIM lock interface.
11.13.1 Installation of the SIM lock code
As part of the manufacturing of a terminal that supports SIM lock, a SIM lock code
must be installed on the RM. The SIM lock code is encrypted and stored in write-once
memory on the RM. In order to get access to change the SIM lock settings, the correct
SIM lock code must be entered.
To set the SIM lock code on the RM, the integrator must do the following:
Write the SIM lock code to .set.password
Write 255 to .set.password_result
Read .set.password_result until .set.password_result < 255
Evaluate result code from .set.password_result. Possible result codes are shown
in the following table.
