3.7 Protocols
Three of the interfaces illustrated in Figure 3-2 on page 3-3 support higher layer
protocols:
BGAN air interface
BGAN XL Radio Module control interface
BGAN XL Radio Module data interface
3.7.1 BGAN air interface
The air interface is compliant with the current Inmarsat BGAN SDM. The BGAN class is
defined by configuration at power-up. The following BGAN (User Terminal) classes will
be supported:

No higher layer protocols are implemented on the TSI
(Time Slot Interchange) interface which implements a
standard PCM bus protocol. The TSI interface can connect
to standard PCM equipment (like ISDN or 2W) and is
dedicated for ISDN user plane data (Circuit Switched - User
Plane)
