3.7.2 BGAN XL Radio Module control interface
The BGAN XL Radio Module control interface is based on a standard serial interface
(UART). The control interface is used for interfacing with devices such as USIM card
readers and GPS/GNSS modules. The protocol layer is strictly proprietary and
documented in the Integrators Manual which is available under NDA.
3.7.3 BGAN XL Radio Module data interface
The data interface is based on USB 2.0 OTG using the CDC EEM (Communication Device
Class - Ethernet Emulation Model) and hence it behaves in most respects as an
Ethernet interface. It supports a wide range of standard network protocols including
but not limited to the following:
Maritime Class 8 High Gain Antenna 432 kbps / 432 kbps
Class 9 Intermediate Gain

The electrical interface complies with the
USB 2.0 standard with the exception of the
mechanical properties of the connector.
The link layer protocol is standard Ethernet
frames carried over the USB link as
specified by the CDC EEM protocol.
