Step 1 å Assemble your unit on a carpeted floor or on the empty carton to avoid scratching your unit or the floor. å Fasten the TOP MOLDING (M20) to the TOP (E3). Use three BLACK 1-1/8" PAN HEAD SCREWS (9S). å å NOTE: Do not overtighten the SCREWS into the TOP. Just think. The sooner you do this, the sooner you do something else. Insert three HOLE PLUGS (14P) into the holes in the TOP MOLDING (M20).
Hardware Usage Guide HOW TO USE A HIDDEN CAM & CAM DOWEL Cam Dowel Arrow Metal end Hidden Cam 2. Insert the metal end of the CAM DOWEL into the HIDDEN CAM. Hole 1. 3. Caution Risk of damage or injury. HIDDEN CAMS must be completely tightened. HIDDEN CAMS that are not completely tightened may loosen, and parts may separate. To completely tighten: Page 6 Push a HIDDEN CAM into the part. The arrow in the HIDDEN CAM must point toward the hole in the edge of the board.
Step 2 å Push four HIDDEN CAMS (1F) into the UPPER ENDS (A3 and B3). Then insert the metal end of a CAM DOWEL (2F) into each HIDDEN CAM. Do not tighten the HIDDEN CAMS in this step.
Step 3 å Slide the UPPER END MOLDINGS* (K) onto the notched edges of the UPPER ENDS (A3 and B3). å NOTE: The bottom edges of the ENDS and MOLDINGS should be even. å *U.S. Patent No. 5,499,886 Notched edge The large groove is closer to this edge. Step 4 å Fasten the UPPER ENDS (A3 and B3) to the TOP (E3). Tighten four HIDDEN CAMS. å NOTE: Be sure the END MOLDINGS (K) are touching the TOP MOLDING (M20). å Open the FURNITURE TIPPING RESTRAINT KIT (97) and fasten the SAFETY STRAP to the TOP (E3). Use the provided BLACK 9/16" LARGE HEAD SCREW. å NOTE: Position the SAFETY STRAP exactly as shown. Caution Do not stand the unit upright without the BACK fastened. The unit may collapse.
Step 5 å å Fasten the SHELF (G3) to the UPPER ENDS (A3 and B3). Use four BLACK 1-15/16" FLAT HEAD SCREWS (113S). Side Step: Make nachos. (Optional, but recommended.) Step 6 å Push four HIDDEN CAMS (1F) into the LOWER ENDS (C2 and D2). Then insert the metal end of a CAM DOWEL (2F) into each HIDDEN CAM. å å å å å Slide the LOWER END MOLDINGS* (P) onto the notched edges of the LOWER ENDS (C2 and D2). NOTE: The top edges of the ENDS and MOLDINGS should be even. Fasten two ANGLE BRACKETS (5G) to the LOWER ENDS (C2 and D2). Use two BLACK 9/16" LARGE HEAD SCREWS (1S). NOTE: Be sure the edges of the ANGLE BRACKETS are even with the long edges of the LOWER ENDS. *U.S.
Step 7 å Fasten the LOWER ENDS (C2 and D2) to the SHELF (G3). Step 8 å Fasten three ANGLE BRACKETS (5G) to the SHELF (G3). Use three BLACK 9/16" LARGE HEAD SCREWS (1S). å Fasten the SKIRT (O) to the SHELF (G3). Use three BLACK 9/16" LARGE HEAD SCREWS (1S). å NOTE: There are no pre-drilled holes in the SKIRT. The SCREWS will tighten into the groove. C2 G3 O D2 The groove is closer to this edge.
Step 9 å Push four HIDDEN CAMS (1F) into the BOTTOM (F). Then insert the metal end of a CAM DOWEL (2F) into each HIDDEN CAM. å Fasten three ANGLE BRACKETS (5G) to the BOTTOM (F). Use three BLACK 9/16" LARGE HEAD SCREWS (1S). å NOTE: Be sure the edges of the ANGLE BRACKETS are even with the edge of the BOTTOM. 2F Arrow Metal end 1F Do not tighten the HIDDEN CAMS in this step.
Step 10 å Fasten the BOTTOM (F) to the LOWER ENDS (C2 and D2). Tighten four HIDDEN CAMS. å NOTE: You may need to flex the LOWER ENDS outward slightly for the BOTTOM to fit. å Fasten the BASE (M46) to the ANGLE BRACKETS on the LOWER ENDS (C2 and D2) and the BOTTOM (F). Use five BLACK 9/16" LARGE HEAD SCREWS (1S). Almost time to celebrate! With a nap.
Step 11 å We have provided a Nail Holder tool to use in this step for proper positioning of the NAILS. Please refer to the parts of the Nail Holder as the bead, offset edge, and nail slot as shown in Diagram 1. Caution Do not stand the unit upright without the BACK fastened. The unit may collapse. å å Unfold the LARGE BACK (H3) and lay it over the top of your unit. å Diagram 3. To fasten the top edge of the BACK (H3), place the offset edge of the Nail Holder down against the TOP (E3).
Step 12 å å Unfold the SMALL BACK (I2) and lay it over the bottom of your unit. å Diagram 2. To fasten the bottom edge of the BACK (I2), place the offset edge of the Nail Holder down against the BOTTOM (F). Place a NAIL into the nail slot of the Nail Holder. Tap the nail through the BACK and into the edge of the BOTTOM (F). Remove the Nail Holder from the NAIL and completely tap the NAIL in with your hammer.
Step 13 å å Carefully stand your unit upright in its final location. We recommend using the SAFETY STRAP for added stability. å INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS: 1. Insert the SAFETY DRYWALL ANCHOR through the WASHER and the end of the SAFETY STRAP. 2. Using a Phillips screwdriver or a hand drill, press the screw slightly onto the drywall. 3. Apply pressure; turn the screw until a pilot hole is made and the nylon sheath slips through. 4.
Step 14 å å Slide a SHELF MOLDING* (N) onto the notched edge of each ADJUSTABLE SHELF (J). å å å å Using your hammer, gently tap a CAM COVER (13P) onto each visible HIDDEN CAM. Push the RUBBER SLEEVES (2R) over the METAL PINS (1R). Insert the METAL PINS (1R) into the hole locations of your choice in the ENDS (A3, B3, C2, and D2). ÉTAPE 8 ÉTAPE 11 Fixer trois CONSOLES À ÉQUERRE (5G) à la TABLETTE (G3). Utiliser trois VIS TÊTE LARGE 14 mm NOIRES (1S). Attention: Ne pas relever l'élément dans sa position verticale avant d'avoir fixé l’ARRIÈRE. L'élément risque de s'effondrer. Fixer la PLINTHE (O) à la TABLETTE (G3). Utiliser trois VIS TÊTE LARGE 14 mm NOIRES (1S). Un porte-clou est prévu à cette étape pour positionner correctement les CLOUS.
ÉTAPE 12 ÉTAPE 13 Déplier le PETIT ARRIÈRE (I2) et le poser sur la section inférieure de l’unité. Relever, avec précaution, l'élément dans sa position verticale et placer l'élément dans son emplacement final. Il est recommandé d'utiliser la SANGLE DE SÉCURITÉ pour renforcer la stabilité. PASO 8 PASO 11 Fije tres SOPORTES ANGULARES (5G) al ESTANTE (G3). Utilice tres TORNILLOS NEGROS DE CABEZA GRANDE de 14 mm (1S). Precaución: No coloque la unidad en posición vertical hasta que se fije el DORSO. La unidad podría caerse. Fije el FALDÓN (O) al ESTANTE (G3).
