DESCRIPCIÓN GENERAL
Muchas gracias por comprar el Soporte Cargador de
Batería TIFZX-6. El TIFZX-6 fue diseñado para car-
gar cómodamente el bloque de baterías de hidruro
de níquel metal (NiMH) TIFZX-7 optativo.
El soporte cargador TIFZX-6 permite la carga alejada
(fuera de la unidad) de un bloque de baterías, con lo
cual puede mantenerse el uso continuo del Detector
de Fugas del TIFZX con otro bloque de baterías.
PAUTAS PARA EL FUNCIONAMIENTO
Precaución: Para prevenir daño de equipo,
•
Sólo para usarse en un lugar seco.
•
Las baterías SÓLO deben cargarse a
temperaturas entre los 50°F—104°F
(10°C—40°C). Cargar baterías fuera de esta
gama de temperatura puede dañar las baterías
de forma permanente.
1. Su Soporte Cargador TIFZX-6 puede utilizarse con
cualquiera de los siguientes Cargadores de
Baterías TIFZX:
•
TIFZX-3: Cargador de Baterías de 110 Voltios –
60 Hertzios (Norte y Sudamérica)
•
TIFZX-3E: Cargador de Baterías de 230 Voltios –
50 Hertzios (Europa, Asia, Australia)
•
TIFZX-3J: Cargador de Baterías de 100 Voltios –
50/60 Hertzios (Japón)
•
TIFZX-11: Cargador de Baterías de 12 Voltios –
para encendedor de cigarillos de carro
2. El bloque de baterías puede dejarse cargando de
forma indefinida. Debido a que un circuito de carga
interno proporciona una carga de mantenimiento
continua, lo que impide que ocurra una condición
de "sobrecarga".
Precaución: No deje el bloque de baterías en el
soporte cargador por un período de tiempo
prolongado sin tenerlo conectado a la electricidad,
ya que puede producirse una descarga lenta de la
batería.
FUNCIONAMIENTO
1. Instale el bloque de baterías en el Soporte
Cargador y alinee la muesca del bloque de
baterías con la ranura del soporte.
2. Inserte el enchufe macho del cargador de baterías
en el receptáculo del Soporte Cargador y conecte
el cargador de baterías a la fuente de electricidad
apropiada.
Nota: El DIODO verde destellará LENTAMENTE, si el
voltaje del bloque de baterías está por debajo de 4
voltios. Un DIODO verde ENCENDIDO de forma
continua indica que está en proceso de Carga
Rápida (ver la tabla siguiente).
3. Cuando el DIODO verde comienza a destellar
RÁPIDAMENTE, el bloque de baterías está listo
para utilizarse.
Nota: Cuando el DIODO ROJO permanece encendido
constantemente, ello indica que la temperatura del
bloque de baterías está fuera de la gama de
temperatura de funcionamiento de 50°F–104°F
(10°C–40°C).

GARANTÍA / SERVICIO
Su Soporte Cargador TIFZX-6 tiene una garantía
limitada que lo protege durante un año, a partir de la
fecha de compra, contra defectos en los materiales
y/o la mano de obra. Si su Soporte Cargador deja de
funcionar, se reparará o sustituirá al comprador
original sin costo alguno, durante un año a partir de
la fecha de compra. Esta garantía se aplica a
aquellos productos que no hayan sido manipulados
indebidamente o dañados debido a una utilización
inapropiada.
Si su Soporte Cargador no funciona apropiadamente
durante este período de un año, llame gratis a
nuestro Departamento de Servicio al Cliente a través
del número de teléfono que aparece más abajo, para
obtener un número de orden de reparación y/o
mantenimiento (RMA) e instrucciones. Los productos
reparados o sustituidos tienen una garantía adicional
de 90 días.
Si radica fuera de los EE.UU.,
le ayudará su representante local de TIF.

GENERAL DESCRIPTION
Thank you for purchasing the TIFZX-6 Battery
Charging Base. The TIFZX-6 is designed for
the convenient charging of the TIFZX-7 nickel
metal hydride (NiMH) battery pack.
The TIFZX-6 charging base permits the
remote charging (external of the unit) of one
battery pack, thereby allowing continuous use
of the TIFZX Leak Detector with another
battery pack.
OPERATING GUIDELINES
Caution: To prevent equipment damage,
•
Use this product in a dry location only.
•
Batteries should be charged ONLY in
temperatures between 50°F—104°F
(10°C—40°C). Charging batteries outside
this temperature range may cause
permanent damage to batteries.
1. The TIFZX-6 Charging Base can be used
with any of the following TIFZX Battery
Chargers:
•
TIFZX-3: 110 Volt – 60 Hz Battery Charger
•
TIFZX-3E: 230 Volt – 50 Hz Battery
Charger
•
TIFZX-3J: 100 Volt – 50/60 Hz Battery
Charger
•
TIFZX-11: 12 Volt Battery Charger –
Automotive “Cigarette Lighter” style
2. The battery pack can be left on charge
indefinitely. An internal charging circuit
provides a continuous maintenance charge,
thus preventing an over-charge condition
from occurring.
CAUTION: Do not leave the battery pack in
the charging base without power
connected for extended periods of time
because a slow discharge of the battery
may occur.
OPERATION
1. Install the battery pack into the TIFZX-6
Charging Base, aligning the raised groove
on the battery pack with the slot in the
base.
2. Insert the external plug from the battery
charger into the jack on the Charging Base,
and plug the battery charger into the
appropriate power supply.
Note: The green LED flashes SLOWLY if the
battery pack voltage is below 4 volts. A
continuous green LED ON indicates a fast
charge is in process (see chart).
3. When the green LED begins to flash
QUICKLY, the battery pack is ready for use.
Note: When the red LED is constantly ON,
this indicates the battery pack temperature is
outside the operating temperature range of
50°F—104°F (10°C—40°C).

WARRANTY / SERVICE
The TIFZX-6 Charging Base has a limited
warranty against defective materials and / or
workmanship for one year from the date of
purchase. Should your Charging Base
become inoperative, a no-charge repair or
replacement will be made to the original
purchaser for one year from the date of
purchase. This warranty applies to products
that have not been tampered with or
damaged through improper use.
If your Charging Base fails to work correctly
during this one-year period, please call our
Customer Service Department at the toll-free
number below to obtain an RMA number and
instructions. Repaired or replaced product
carries an additional 90-day warranty.
Outside the U.S.A.,
your local TIF representative will assist you.
