Environment setup and installation 1.1 System requirements • Windows XP Service Pack 3, Windows 7 (32 – 64 bit) • Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 or later 1.2 Installation To install this application, run the MODBUS Master Setup.exe installation package file contained in the CD ROM. Follow the instructions shown on PC to install with success the application. 1.
English 2. Using MODBUS MASTER When Modbus Master starts, the following page is displayed. Pict. 1 – Modbus Master Start Page Enable the communication channel of PC serial port. Disable the communication channel of PC serial port. This operation will disconnect all the energy counters connected by serial port. It allows to add an energy counter. Remove the selected energy counter. It allows to select the MODBUS Master language (English, German, Italian, French).
The following procedure describes how to add a new energy counter combined to an RS485 MODBUS module using serial communication (RTU, ASCII). Enable the communication channel of PC serial port where the RS485 MODBUS module is connected. Click on Serial port item in the left column. The following parameters are shown. Pict. 2 – Serial communication parameters Select the PC COM port where the RS485 MODBUS module is connected and the relevant communication speed (Baudrate). Confirm with Apply key.

English Pict. 4 – Adding an energy counter by serial communication In this window, three tabs are available: Connection Parameters, Device Setup, Measure. In Connection Parameters page, the first displayed tab, enter the correct Modbus Address and select the Modbus Mode for the connected RS485 MODBUS module. For RS485 MODBUS module, the operating modes are RTU or ASCII. Confirm the parameters with Apply key.
English 2.2 Add an energy counter by LAN communication (TCP) The following procedure describes how to add a new energy counter combined to a LAN GATEWAY module using LAN communication (TCP). Add an energy counter by clicking on button. After that, in the left column EnergyCounter1 will be shown under Instruments item (Pict. 5). Pict. 5 – Adding an energy counter by LAN communication In this window, three tabs are available: Connection Parameters, Device Setup, Measure.
To change the module serial parameters (in case of an RS485 MODBUS module) or manage the device partial counters, select Device Setup tab. Pict. 6 – Serial parameters and partial counters management (Device Setup for serial communication) In Device Setup page, it is possible to change the following communication parameters of the RS485 MODBUS module: Modbus Address, Modbus Mode, communication speed (Baudrate). After parameters setup, confirm the changes with Apply key.
English Pict. 7 – Partial counters management (Device Setup for LAN communication) Under Change parameters area, area for Partial counters management is shown. In this area it is possible to start/stop/reset the partial counters of the connected device. In Partial counter field, select the partial counter which must carry out the operation.
Pict. 8 – Real Time values of the connected energy counter In Measure page, it is possible to display by different tabs: • Realtime values • Total counters • Tariff 1 counters • Tariff 2 counters • Partial counters • Balance values • Info on energy counter • Info on communication module • Alarms The time for values refresh can change according to the set communication speed and the number of displayed parameters.
English 2.4 Remove an energy counter It is possible to disconnect an energy counter by removing it. The energy counter removal can be carried out in two different ways: • Select the energy counter to be removed and then click on button. • Select the desired energy counter, right click on it and then press the Delete button just shown (Pict. 9). Die angegeben Anweisungen zur Installation folgen. 1.
2. Die Software ModBUS Master anwenden Deutsch Nachdem die Software gestartet worden ist, wird das Fenster unten angezogen. Bild 1 – Startseite der Software Modbus master Aktiviert das Kommunikationskanal der PC seriellen Schnittstelle. Sperrt das Kommunikationskanal der PC seriellen Schnittstelle. Diese Funktion wird die Verbindung zu allen über serielle Schnittstelle angeschlossenen Zählern trennen. Dient zum Hinzufügen eines Energiezähler. Löscht eines Energiezähler.
2.1 Ein Energiezähler über die Schnittstelle (RTU, ASCII) hinzufügen Das Kommunikationskanal der seriellen Schnittstelle des PC aktivieren, wo das RS485 MODBUS Modul angeschlossen ist. In der Spalte links die Position Schnittstelle auswählen. Die Parameter im Bild unten angezeigt werden. Bild 2 – Einstellungen zur seriellen Kommunikation Der PC COM Port, wo das RS485 MODBUS Modul angeschlossen ist, und die entsprechende Kommunikationsgeschwindigkeit (Baudrate) auswählen.
Deutsch Bild 3 – Aktivierung des Kommunikationskanal der seriellen Schnittstelle des PC Nach der Aktivierung des Kanals kann ein Energiezähler beim Anklicken auf die Taste hinzugefügt. Nach diesen Vorgehensweise wird in der linken Spalte Zähler1 unter der Position Geräte (Bild 4) angezeigt.
Deutsch Bild 4 – Ein Energiezähler über die serielle Kommunikation hinzufügen Diese Seite enthält 3 Tab: Verbindungsparameter, Geräteparameter, Messwerte. In der Seite Verbindungsparameter, die erste angezeigten Tab, sollen die richtige Modbus Adresse und die Modbus Modus des angeschlossenen RS485 Modul eingestellt werden. Die bei dem RS485 Modbus Modul verfügbaren Modbustypen sind RTU oder ASCII. Die eingestellten Parameter mit der Taste Ausführen bestätigen.
2.2 Ein Energiezähler über LAN (TCP) hinzufügen Deutsch Das Abschnitt unten beschreibt wie einen neuen mit einem LAN Gateway Modul gekoppelten Energiezähler über LAN (TCP) Kommunikation hinzugefügt werden kann. Ein Energiezähler wird beim Anklicken auf die Taste hinzugefügt. Nach diesen Vorgehensweise wird in der linken Spalte Zähler1 unter der Position Geräte (Bild 5) angezeigt.
2.3 Der Energiezähler verwalten Deutsch Die Tab Geräteparameter zur Änderung der seriellen Kommunikationsparameter des Moduls (bei einem RS485 Modbus Modul) oder zur Verwaltung der Partialenergiezähler des Gerätes auswählen.
Deutsch Bild 7 – Verwaltung der Partialenergiezähler über LAN Kommunikation Unter dem Gebiet Geräteparameter ändern wird das Gebiet Partialzähler Verwaltung angezeigt. Dieses Gebiet dient zum Starten/ Stoppen/ Rücksetzen der Partialenergiezähler des angeschlossenen Energiezähler. Im Feld Partialzähler soll den gewüschten Zählerstand ausgewählt werden.
Deutsch Tie Tab Messwerte zur Anzeige der Messwerte, der Alarme und der Informationen über das angeschlossenen Zähler und der Informationen über das gekoppelten Modul auswählen.
2.4 Ein Energiezähler löschen Deutsch Ein Energiezähler kann bei der Software gelöscht werden. Zum Löschen eines Energiezählers sind zwei Vorgehensweise verfügbar: • der Zähler zuerst auswählen, dann die Taste drücken. • der gewünschten Zähler auswählen, dann mit der rechten Taste anklicken und das angegebene Befehl Löschen drücken.
