MODEL (950-4030) AD-1 SPEED CONTROLLER
INSTALLATION
BEFORE INSTALLATION PLEASE NOTE:
All wiring must be done in accordance with the NATIONAL ELECTRICAL CODE
(NEC) and applicable local codes. Extreme caution must be exercised to ensure
that radiant and convection heat generated by the vent pipe does not damage the
electrical wiring.
Step 1. CAUTION: MAKE SURE THAT ALL 115 VOLT POWER IS DISCON-
NECTED TO THE FAN BEFORE CONTINUING.
Step 2. Connect the Black motor wire from fan to the WHITE wire from speed
controller.
Step 3. Connect the BLACK wire from speed controller to the 115 Volt source
(L1).
NOTE: Refer to wiring diagram below.
SPEED CONTROLLER CHECK OUT PROCEDURES
Step 1. Turn the dial in a clockwise rotation and listen for a "click", then stop
rotation. At this time the fan should be operating at maximum speed.
Step 2. Continue to rotate the dial in a clockwise position until the dial stops.
At this time the fan should be running at its slowest speed.
Step 3. Allow the fan to operate for approximately 5 minutes. Rotate the dial
counter clockwise until a "click" is heard. At this time the fan should
slow down and stop.
