16. Adding areas
• Using this function, you can add measurements of two rectangular
areas.
• One of the two side lengths must be identical for both areas.
However, the surfaces need not be adjacent.
• For the correct order of individual measurements, follow the blinking
segments of the indicator for area addition (rectangle with an
attached parallelogram).
Proceed as follows:
1. Press the function button (J) twice. The indicator for area addition is
shown at the top of the display.
2. Measure the rst side length of the rst area. The value will be
displayed in the bottom line.
3. Measure the second side length of the rst area. This side length
must be the same for all surfaces. The value will be displayed in
the bottom line.
4. Measure the remaining side length of the second area. This side
cannot be part of the rst surface. The measurement is shown in
the middle line.
5. The sum of both areas is shown in the bottom line.
