 • Ensureproperventilationduringsoldering.Solderorsolderuxcanbeharmful.
 • Washyourhandsthoroughlyafterworkingwithbrazingsoldercontainingtin.Thisisespecially
truewhenusingleadedsolder.
 • Donotputbrazingsolderintoyourmouth,donoteatordrinkduringsoldering.
 • Wearsuitableprotectiveclothingandprotectiveglasseswhensoldering.Liquidblazingsolder,
etc.maycauseseriousburnsorharmyoureyes!
 • Neverusesolderingux,acidorsimilaraidswhensoldering.Suchmaterialsleadtobadsolder-
ingjointsandtheycanalsodamagethetipofthesolderingrod.Preferably,useatubularsolder
withuxcore.
 • Donottouchanyotherareaofthesolderingrodthanthehandlewhenworking.Riskofburns!
 • Solderingmustbedoneonnon-combustiblesurfaces.Protect othermaterialsnearby from
damagethroughheat.
 • Pluginthesolderingironholderwhenthesolderingironisnotinuse.
 • Ifthepowercordisdamaged,donottouchit;thereisdangertolifefromelectricshock!
  First,switchoffthemainsvoltagetothesockettowhichthesolderingironisconnected(switch
offatthecorrespondingcircuitbreakerorremovethesafetyfuseorswitchoffatthecorre-
spondingRCDprotectiveswitch,sothatthesocketisfullydisconnected).
  Thenyoucanremovethemainsplugfromthemainssocket.Donotusetheproductanylonger,
takeittoaspecialisedworkshopordisposeofinanenvironmentallyfriendlymanner.
 • Anymaintenanceorrepairworkmaybeonlyperformedbyanauthorisedrepairshop.
 • Neverusetheproductimmediatelyaftertakingitfromacoldroomtoawarmone.Thecon-
densationthatformsmightdamagetheproduct.Furthermore,thiscouldcausealethalelectric
shock!
  Allowtheproducttoreachroomtemperature,beforeconnectingittothepowersupplyand
puttingitintouse.Thismaytakeseveralhours.
 • Avoidthefollowingadverseconditionsattheinstallationlocationandduringtransport:
 - Dustorammablegases,fumesorsolvents
 - Strongvibrations,impactsorblows
 - Strongmagneticeldssuchasthosefoundinthevicinityofmachineryorloudspeakers
 • Disconnectthepowersupplyfromthepowersocketiftheproductwillnotbeusedforawhile
(e.g.storage).
 • Whensettinguptheproduct,makesurethatthecableisneitherkinkednorpinched.
 • Handletheproductwithcare;itcanbedamagedbyimpacts,blows,oraccidentalfalls,even
fromalowheight.
 • Ifitcanbeassumedthatsafeoperationisnolongerpossible,thedevicemustbeturnedoffand
precautionsmustbetakentoensurethatitisnotusedunintentionally.Afterthis,arrangeforan
experttochecktheproduct.
  Safeoperationcannolongerbeassumedif:
 - thedeviceisvisiblydamaged,
 - thedevicenolongerworks

Gettingstarted
 Pleaseconsultthesection:“SafetyInstructions”!
a)Installation
• Selectahorizontal,stableandsufcientlylargesurfacetoerectthesolderingstation.
 Protectheat-sensitivesurfaceswith a suitable cover.Neverplacethe soldering station onsurfacesof
valuablefurnitureoroors;neverplaceitonacarpet.Keepsufcientdistancetocombustibleoreasily
inammableobjects(e.g.curtains).
• Duringtheinstallationofthesolderingstationandsolderingironholder,theoptimallocationofwherethe
twocomponentsshouldbeplacedcanbechosen.
• Removetheprotectiverubberonthetipofthesolderingiron.Itservesonlyasprotectionduringtransport,
itisnolongerneeded.
• Checkwhethertheridgedmetalnutistightenedtothesolderingiron(don’tuseanytooltotighten!).
• Placethesolderingrodintoitsholdersothatthesolderingrodcannotfallout.
• Ifyouwanttousethedrycleaner(brasswool)tocleanthesolderingtip,itcanbepluggedfromthesupplied
mountingbracketintotheassociatedopeningofthesolderingironholder.
 Ifyouwanttousetheregularspongeforcleaningthetip,wetthespongewithcleanrunningwaterandplace
itintothecorrespondingholeofthesolderingironholder.

replaced.
Thesolderingstationissuitableonlyforoperationwithamainsvoltage(230V/AC,50Hz).
