e) Area Measurement
The laser distance meter can determine the
area content of an area, e.g. the wall of an
apartment, if you want to calculate the area
of the wallpaper quantity.
Observe that the area to be measured is
rectangular, since the area is calculated by
multiplying the two distances „a“ and „b“.
The measurements therefore must be made
at right angles to each other.
Proceed as follows:
1. Keep the middle function button „ “ (C) pushed until a square appears at the top of the
display (area measurement). Release the button again.
2. Push the measuring button „ “ (B) briey to measure the rst side length (a). The mea-
sured value is shown in the middle line (3). Then the right dash of the square ashes in the
display.
3. Push the measuring button „ “ (B) briey to measure the second side length (b). Observe
that the measurement is performed at a right angle to the rst side length.
After the measurement, the middle line (3) shows the measured value of the second side
length, and the calculated area in m² appears in the lower display line (4) (the complete
square now ashes at the top of the display).
4. If another area measurement is to be performed, briey push the measuring button „ “ (B).
The data are deleted from the display. Now continue with step 2.
Pushing the power button „ “ (D) several times will take you back to the previous
step or leave area measurement.
