9. Setting Up the Microscope
a) Insert Battery
• Slide the battery compartment cover off and
insert the rechargeable battery.
• Match polarity as shown in the battery
compartment (A11).
• Replacethebatterycompartmentcover.
b) Charge Battery
Do not charge the battery via mains power supply while the microscope is connected to a powered
USB 2.0 port. This may cause the battery to overheat.
• The battery will charge via USB cable or mains
power supply.
- Connect the supplied charging cable to the
5V/DC charging port (A16) at the back of the
base, and the other end to a power outlet.
- Or connect the supplied USB cable to the
USB port (A17) at the back of the base,
and the other end to the USB port on your
computer.
• The battery indicator LED (A5) will glow red to
indicate that the battery is charging, and turn off
when the battery is fully charged.
• When it is time to recharge the battery, a low
battery icon will show on the bottom right corner
of the LCD display (A19).
