Operation
When operating the rework station through the application, always perform a
function check to make sure each action has the intended outcome.
Open then close each channel to check that those actions start and stop the
intended hardware peripherals. Take note of this information.
Also observe the rework station LCD display as you congure various
application settings e.g. when changing the temperature.
a) Communication link
Interface with the rework station by establishing a communication link (1).
1. Select the COM port number from the dropdown list.
Try each of the COM port numbers that were noted earlier.
2. Select [OpenPort] to establish a connection. The serial port and message panel (3), will
indicate the connection status.
Selection Description
SetMachine Change temperature units and keypad tone on/off.

FindPort Find the connected COM port.
b) Set channel parameters
Connected devices can be controlled through their respective channels 1 to 3.
Selection Description
Open Turn the peripheral ON/OFF
LockParan Lock settings to prevent them from accidentally being changed.
SetParam Set the auto-sleep time and temperature compensation.
SetTempe Set the temperature.
SetAir Set air volume (not applicable to the soldering iron).

c) Real-time temperature display graph
Selection Description
Ch1, Ch2,
Ch3
Select one more channels to view the real-time temperature graph.
Save Save the graph to a specied location.
d) Serial port commands and message panel
• Executed commands, channel status, and error codes appear in the message panel (3).
See section “Error codes” for further information.
• Manually enter a serial command then press [Send] to run that command.

Software for 4-in-1 Rework Station (TPS-900)

Intended use
This software application (“App” for short) allows the user to connect to the rework station
using a Windows
®
based computer. After successful connection, the user can view data, run
commands from a computer, and congure settings.

safety, use and care.

Setting up
a) Download and install software
Follow the onscreen prompts to complete the download and installation process.
Refer to your computer operating system instructions for further information if
needed.
1. Visit www.conrad.com/downloads and enter the item number.
2. Download the following software:
- Driver: 1933085-86_2108748_driver_v1
- App: 1933085_software_v1
3. Install the driver.
4. Install the App.
b) Rework station: Set mode to “SLA” (SLAVE)
1. Connect the rework station to a power outlet then turn the power on.
2. Press and hold the MENU/ENTER button to enter the system menu.
3. Scroll down to Mode then press MENU/ENTER.
4. Select SLA then press the MENU/ENTER button to conrm.
Remember to set the mode back to “MA” (MASTER) if you are not using the
application to control the product.
c) Connect rework station to computer
1. Power up your computer and login if needed.
2. Connect one end of the included cable to the USB-B port on the rework station, and the
other end to a USB-A port on your computer.
3. Wait a few moments for your system to recognize the connection and make adjustments.
System prompts will notify you of the status.
d) Get the COM port information
1. Open the Windows
®
“device manager”.
Start → search “device manager”
2. Go to “Ports (COM & LPT)” and expand the
menu.
3. Make a note of the USB Serial Port number. e.g.
(COM5).
If several ports are shown, take note of
all the numbers.
4. Exit the device manager.
