g) Warnings for grinding tasks
Only use the grinding tools approved for your multi-purpose tool and the transparent visual shield de-
signed for these grinding tools. Grinding tools that are not designed for the multi-purpose tool cannot be
adequately shielded and are unsafe.
Grinding tools must only be used for the recommended applications. Never grind using the side of a
cutting disc. Cutting discs are designed to remove material using the edge of the disc. Applying a lateral
force on these grinding tools may cause them to break.
Always use undamaged collets and ensure that they are the correct shape and size for the selected
grinding tool.
Do not use worn grinding discs from larger multi-purpose tools.
Grinding tools for larger devices are not designed for the higher speeds of smaller devices and may
break.
ATTENTION! The device features a spindle lock. Never press the spindle lock when the disc is turning!
This multi-purpose tool is not suitable for working with wire brushes. Do not use accessories which are

unsuitable accessories, this does not guarantee that they can be used safely. The permissible speed of
the attached tool must be at least as high as the maximum speed indicated on the multi-purpose tool.
Accessories that rotate faster than permitted may be destroyed.
The outer diameter and thickness of the attached tool must correspond to the dimensions of your multi-
purpose tool. Attached tools with the wrong dimensions cannot be adequately shielded or controlled.

h) Kickback warnings
Kickback is the sudden reaction caused by a rotating tool (e.g. grinding disc, grinding plate or wire brush)
that becomes caught or blocked, causing the rotating tool to stop abruptly. This then causes the uncon-
trolled multi-purpose tool to accelerate in the opposite direction to the attached tool. For example, if a
grinding disc in the workpiece becomes caught or blocked, the edge of the grinding disc that is immersed
in the workpiece may catch and cause the grinding disc to break away or kick back. The grinding disc
will then move towards or away from the user, depending on the direction in which the disc is rotating at
the location where it is blocked. Grinding discs may also break in these circumstances. Kickback is the
result of incorrect or incorrect use of the multi-purpose tool. It can be prevented by taking appropriate
precautions as described below.
Holdthemulti-purposetoolrmlyandplaceyourbodyandarmsinapositionwhereyoucanabsorb
the kickback forces. Always use the auxiliary handle, if available, to ensure the greatest possible control
over kickback forces or reaction torques when the device is starting up. You can control the kickback and
reaction forces by taking appropriate precautions.
Never place your hand in the vicinity of rotating tools. The tool may move over your hand in the event
of kickback.
Use your body to protect the area in which the multi-purpose tool will move in the event of kickback. The
kickback force drives the multi-purpose tool in the opposite direction to the direction in which the grinding
disc moves at the location of the blockage.
