16.2 Maintaining the bar
Clean the bar at regular intervals and check it for wear and damage.
Note: Turn the bar over every 8 working hours to ensure that it wears uniformly.

Checking the bar for damage
1. Check the bar for wear and damage. Replace the bar if necessary.
NEVER t a new chain on a worn sprocket or worn guide ring.

Cleaning the bar
1. Put on protective gloves. Sharp edges can cause cuts.
2. Use a plastic cleaning tool to keep the slot and lubrication holes clean.
3. Clean the oil channels on the bar to ensure proper lubrication of the bar and chain.
16.3 Sharpening the chain
A correctly sharpened chain is important for the efcient and safe use of the saw. A worn or incorrectly led chain can
cause kickback.
1. Have the chain sharpened by a professional.
17 Transport and storage
17.1 Transport
Before transporting:
1. Remove the battery.
2. Fit the guard over the bar.
3. (If transported in vehicle) Secure the saw to prevent movement.
17.2 Long-term storage

Before storing
1. Remove the battery.
2. Remove the chain.
3. Fit the guard over the bar.
4. Let the chain saw reach room temperature.

Storing
Store the chain saw out of reach of unauthorised persons.
Store the chain saw horizontally.
Store the chain saw in a dry place.
