During construction there will be several
occasions where epoxy cleanup will be
necessary. Instead of wasting whole paper towels,
stack three or four paper towels on top of each
other and cut them into small squares. This will
conserve paper towels and the little squares are
easier to use. For epoxy clean up dampen the
squares with denatured alcohol.
Plastic bags filled with lead shot are
recommended for building weights. They assume
the shape of curved surfaces and apply uniform
pressure. Shot can be purchased at sporting
goods stores where hunting supplies are sold. #6
shot is recommended. One 25 lb. [11kg] bag costs
about twenty dollars. Small, sealable food storage
bags can be used to hold the shot. Tape the bags
shut for security. Each bag holds about two to
three pounds. Twelve to fifteen bags is adequate
for this project.
