Measuring Antenna Height
Thereceivercalculatesthe coordinatesoftheantenna’sphasecenter.Todeterminethecoordinatesofthestationmarker,
specifythefollowing:
Measuredheightoftheantennaabovethestationmarker
Methodofmeasuringtheantennaheight
Modeloftheantenna/receiverused
Anynecessaryantennaphasecenteradjustments,basedontheantennamodel,isautomaticallyapplied.Thisadjustment,when
combinedwithaccuratelymeasuredheightandmeasurementmethods,allowsforcorrectlycomputedreferencemarker
coordinates.
Toaccuratelymeasuretheantennaheight:
1. Measuretheantennaheightabovethecontrolpointormarker,eithertheslantheightortheverticalheight.
Youmay eithermeasuretheverticalheighttotheAntennaReferencePoint(ARP)locatedatthebottomofthe
receiveratthebaseofthemountingthread s,ormeasuretheslantheightto
theSlan
tHeightMeasurementMark
(SHMM)onthesideofthereceiver.ForARPandSHMMmarksonthereceiver,seeFigure 18.
2. Recordtheantennaheight,pointsname,andstarttimeinthefieldnotes.
