Chapter 3: Unpacking and getting started 1. Remove the Bluetooth module, antenna, Bluetooth PC dongle, RS232 crossover cable, and power supply out of the package. 2. Connect the RS232 crossover cable’s end marked “Bluetooth” to the Bluetooth module and firmly tighten the side relief screws in order to secure the RS232 cable with the Bluetooth module. 3. Connect the Bluetooth antenna to the Bluetooth module by screwing it into the antenna port. (Do not over tighten). 4.
5. Plug in the Bluetooth power adapter into the module’s power supply socket marked “5VDC”. Note: Do not plug in the Bluetooth power adapter into the electrical wall outlet at this time. Bluetooth dongle PC setup must be completed first. Note: Make sure that the module’s slide switch is in the position towards the antenna connector.
Chapter 4: Connecting the Bluetooth dongle to your PC and Paring the module (Win 7) 1. Plug in the Bluetooth dongle to an available USB port in your PC. Windows will begin automatic installation of device driver software. 2. Once the driver is installed the message “your device is ready to use, device driver software installed successfully” should appear in the right corner of your task bar, along with a Bluetooth icon. 3.
5. Device window with available devices will appear on your screen. 6. Locate device “TORBAL Bluetooth”, click once to select it, and click on next to proceed.
7. The wizard will display device pairing options, click once on option “Enter the device’s paring code” and key in 867225. Click next to pair the TORBAL Bluetooth device with your computer. 8. Once the pairing process has been completed Windows will display the message “this device has been successfully added to your computer”. Click on close to exit the Bluetooth pairing wizard. 9. Once again right click on the Bluetooth icon located in your task bar and select “open settings”. 10.
11. Click on the tab “COM ports”, the serial COM ports used by your computer for Bluetooth communication will be displayed. Note the outgoing COM port number for “TORBAL Bluetooth Dev B”. This is the COM port used by your computer to send and receive data between the TORBAL scale and your PC via the Bluetooth module. This COM port should be used whenever configuring the connection in TORBAL Communications Software, TORBAL Procell, or other third party applications.
Chapter 5: Connecting the Bluetooth dongle to your PC and Paring the module (Win Vista) 1. Plug in the Bluetooth dongle to an available USB port in your PC. Windows will begin automatic installation of device driver software. 2. Once the driver is installed the message “your device is ready to use, device driver software installed successfully” should appear in the right corner of your task bar, along with a Bluetooth icon. 3.
6. Device window with available devices will appear on your screen. 7. Locate device “TORBAL Bluetooth”, click once to select it, and click on next to proceed. 8. The wizard will display device pairing options, click once on option “Enter the device’s paring code” and key in 867225. Click next to pair the TORBAL Bluetooth device with your computer.
9. Once the pairing process has been completed Windows will display the message “this device has been successfully added to your computer”. Click on close to exit the Bluetooth pairing wizard. 10. In the” Bluetooth devices” window click on “Bluetooth settings” in the menu bar to open Bluetooth radio properties. 11. For your convenience we recommend that you check off option “show the Bluetooth icon in the notification area” from in the options tab. 12.

7. The “Add Bluetooth Device Wizard” will open. “Check off my device is set and ready to be found” and click on next. 8. Windows will search for Bluetooth devices. 9. Locate device “TORBAL Bluetooth”, click once to select it, and click on next to proceed.
10. The wizard will display passkey options, select “Use the passkey found in the documentation” and key in 867225. Click next to pair the TORBAL Bluetooth device with your computer. 11. Once the pairing process has been completed Windows will display a message indicating that TORBAL Bluetooth has been paired with your computer, as well as COM (serial) ports assigned to the TORBAL Bluetooth module. Note the outgoing COM port number.
Chapter 7: Paring the TORBAL Bluetooth module with a factory built in Bluetooth device TORBAL Bluetooth module is designed to work with any Bluetooth device, however, since factory built in Bluetooth devices vary significantly in software, as well as pairing settings layout, we are unable to support and provide step by step instructions on how to pair the TORBAL Bluetooth module with your PC’s built in Bluetooth device.
