–Evaluatethesiteconditionsofthedayto
determineiftheslopeissafeformachine
operation.Usecommonsenseandgood
judgmentwhenperformingthisevaluation.
Changesintheterrain,suchasmoisture,can
quicklyaffecttheoperationofthemachineon
aslope.
•Alwaysbesureofyourfooting,andkeeparm
holdonthehandles.Walk;neverrun.
•Trimacrossthefaceofslopes,neverupanddown.
•Exerciseextremecautionwhenchangingdirection
onslopes.
•Donottrimonsteepslopes.
•Useextremecautionwhenreversingorpullingthe
machinetowardyou.
•Avoidmowingonwetgrass.Poorfootingcould
causeaslip-and-fallaccident.
•Removeormarkobstaclessuchasditches,holes,
ruts,bumps,rocks,orotherhiddenhazards.T all
grasscanhideobstacles.
•Mowwithcautionneardrop-offs,ditches,or
embankments.
•Whenusingthemachine,alwayskeepbothhands
onthehandle.
•Whencuttingfromthetopofaslopeandyouneed
alongerreach,useanapprovedextendedhandle.
