Evaluatethesiteconditionsofthedayto
determineiftheslopeissafeformachine
operation.Usecommonsenseandgood
judgmentwhenperformingthisevaluation.
Changesintheterrain,suchasmoisture,can
quicklyaffecttheoperationofthemachineon
aslope.
Alwaysbesureofyourfooting,andkeeparm
holdonthehandles.Walk;neverrun.
Trimacrossthefaceofslopes,neverupanddown.
Exerciseextremecautionwhenchangingdirection
onslopes.
Donottrimonsteepslopes.
Useextremecautionwhenreversingorpullingthe
machinetowardyou.
Avoidmowingonwetgrass.Poorfootingcould
causeaslip-and-fallaccident.
Removeormarkobstaclessuchasditches,holes,
ruts,bumps,rocks,orotherhiddenhazards.T all
grasscanhideobstacles.
Mowwithcautionneardrop-offs,ditches,or
embankments.
Whenusingthemachine,alwayskeepbothhands
onthehandle.
Whencuttingfromthetopofaslopeandyouneed
alongerreach,useanapprovedextendedhandle.
