MaintenanceandStorage
•Disengagedrives,lowerimplement,setparkingbrake,
stopengine,andremovekeyordisconnectsparkplug
wire.Waitforallmovementtostopbeforeadjusting,
cleaning,orrepairing.
•Parkmachineonlevelground.Neverallowuntrained
personneltoservicemachine.
•Keephandsandfeetawayfrommovingparts.Ifpossible,
donotmakeadjustmentswiththeenginerunning.
•Keepallnuts,boltsandscrewstighttobesurethe
equipmentisinsafeworkingcondition.Replaceallworn
ordamagedlabels.
•Donotusepressurecleaningequipmentonmachine.
•Neverstoretheequipmentwithgasolineinthetankand
insideabuildingwherefumescanreachanopename
orspark.
•Allowtheenginetocoolbeforestoringinanyenclosure.
•Toreducetherehazard,keeptheengine,silencer,and
gasolinestorageareafreeofgrass,leaves,orexcessive
grease.
•Cleanupanyoilorfuelspill.
•Checkgrasscatchercomponentsandthedischargeguard
frequentlyandreplacewithmanufacturer'srecommended
parts,whennecessary.
•Replacewornordamagedpartsforsafety.
•Replacefaultysilencers.
•Ifthefueltankhastobedrained,dothisoutdoors.
•Donotchangetheenginegovernorsettingsoroverspeed
theengine.Operatinganengineatexcessivespeedcan
increasethehazardofpersonalinjury.
•Becarefulduringadjustmentofthelawnmowerto
prevententrapmentofthengersbetweenmovingblades
andxedpartsofthelawnmower.
•Usecarewhencheckingblades.Wraptheblade(s)or
weargloves,andusecautionwhenservicingthem.Only
replaceblades.Neverstraightenorweldthem.
