Therotationalspeedofthecuttingcylindersshould
alwaysbekeptashighaspossibleinordertomaintain
thehighestqualityofcut.Thisinturnrequiresthatthe
enginespeedbekeptashighaspossible.
Cuttingperformanceisbestwhencuttingagainstthe
lieofthegrass.Inordertotakeadvantageofthisfact,
theoperatorshouldattempttoalternatethedirection
ofmowingbetweencuts.
Takecarenottoleaveuncutstripsofgrassatthe
overlappointsbetweenadjacentcuttingunitsby
avoidingtightturns.
MaximizingtheQualityofCut
Thequalityofcutwilldeteriorateiftheforwardspeed
isexcessive.Alwaysbalancethequalityofcutwith
theworkraterequiredandsettheforwardspeed
accordingly.
MaximizingEngineEfciency
Donotlettheenginelabor.Ifyounoticethatthe
enginestartstolabor,reducetheforwardspeedor
increasetheheightofcut.Checkthatthecutting
cylindersarenotinheavycontactwiththeirbottom
blades.
DrivingtheMachineinTransport
Mode
Alwaysdisengagethecuttingunitdrivewhentraveling
acrossun-grassedareas.Grasswilllubricatethe
cuttingedgeswhilstmowing.Excessiveheatwillbuild
upifthecuttingcylindersarerunwhennotmowing
andthiswillcauserapidweartotakeplace.Forthis
reasonitisalsowisetoreducecuttingspeedwhen
mowinglightlygrassedareasorwhenthegrassis
dry.Becarefulwhendrivingbetweenobjectssothat
youdonotaccidentallydamagethemachineorthe
cuttingunits.
WARNING
Takecarewhentravelingoverobstaclessuch
asroadsidecurbs.Alwaystravelatslow
speedoverobstaclestopreventdamageto
thetires,wheels,andsteeringsystem.Ensure
thatthetiresareinatedtotherecommended
pressures.
OperatingtheMachineonSlopes
Useextracarewhenoperatingthemachineonslopes.
Driveslowlyandavoidsharpturnsonslopesto
preventrollovers.Lowerthecuttingunitsforsteering
controlwhengoingdownhill.
UsingtheRearRollerScrapers
Itisgenerallywisetoremoverearrollerscrapers
whereconditionsallow,asoptimumgrassdischarge
isachievedwithoutthem.Installthescraperswhen
conditionsaresuchthatmudandgrassstarttobuild
upontherollers.Wheninstallingthescraperwires,
ensurethattheyarecorrectlytensioned.

compartmenttohelppreventres.Cleanupoilor
fuelspills.
•Shutoffthefuelwhilestoringortransportingthe
machine.
•Disengagethedrivetotheattachmentwhenever
youaretransportingornotusingthemachine.
•Maintainandcleantheseatbelt(s)asnecessary.
•Donotstorethemachineorfuelcontainerwhere
thereisanopename,spark,orpilotlight,such
asonawaterheateroronotherappliances.
