•Swallowingenginecoolantcancausepoisoning;
keepoutofreachfromchildrenandpets.
•Dischargeofhot,pressurizedcoolantortouching
ahotradiatorandsurroundingpartscancause
severeburns.
–Alwaysallowtheenginetocoolatleast15
minutesbeforeremovingtheradiatorcap.
–Usearagwhenopeningtheradiatorcap,and
openthecapslowlytoallowsteamtoescape.

CAUTION
Iftheenginehasbeenrunning,the
pressurized,hotcoolantcanescapeand
causeburns.
•Donotopentheradiatorcapwhenthe
engineisrunning.
•Usearagwhenopeningtheradiator
cap,andopenthecapslowlytoallow
steamtoescape.
2.Checklevelofcoolantinradiatorwhenthe
coolantiscold.Radiatorshouldbelledtothe
topofthellerneckandtheexpansiontanklled
betweenthemarksonitsside(Figure43).
