GRASS CUTTING FAULTS
FAULT POSSIBLE CAUSE REMEDY
Areas of uncut grass at
point of overlap between
cutterdecks
Turning too tightly Increase turning radius
Mower sliding sideways when
travelling across face of slope
Mow up/down slope
One end of cutterdeck out of ground contact
caused by:
- Poorly routed hoses or wrongly
positioned hydraulic adaptors
Reroute hoses/reposition hydraulic adaptors
- Pivot pins seizing Free off and grease pivot points
- Grass build up under cutterdeck Remove grass
Step in cut grass height at
point of overlap between
cutterdecks
Inconsistent height of cut settings between
the cutterdecks
Check and readjust height of cut
settings
Raise/lower position control not in oat
position
Operate position control to oat
position
One end of cutterdeck out of ground contact
caused by:

Cutting edges of cutterdecks/
bottom blades are rounded
Back lap or regrind to restore cutting edges
Cutterblades out of balance Replace as necessary
Cutterdeck gauge wheels damaged Inspect and replace as necessary
Inconsistent height of cut settings Check and readjust height of cut settings
Slow cutterblade rotational speed Refer to TROUBLE SHOOTING
Scalping Undulations too severe for height of cut
setting
Use oating cutterdecks
Height of cut too low Raise height of cut
