ASSEMBLY
Assemble the smooth front roller to the MK3 cutterhead by
following the steps below:
1. Fit the washer (item 4) to one end of the roller (item 8) over
the M16 thread.
2. Fit the plate (item 14) over the at of the roller and secure
using the spring washer (item 6) and nut roller (item 9).
3. Take the roller adjuster (item 10) and screw on one locknut
(item 16), then push threaded end through bracket (item
11) and screw on the second locknut (item 16), leave nger
tight.
4. Connect bracket (item 11) to the plate (item 14) using
setscrew (item 15), washer (item 3) and nyloc nut (item
19), leave nger tight.
5. Repeat steps 1 - 4 for the other end of the roller.
6. Assemble the front roller assembly to the slotted brackets
on the cutterhead frame using the screws (items 1), washers
(items 2) and Nyloc nuts (items 18), refer to the parts list.
7. Insert the scraper wire (item 7) through the small hole in
the plate (item 14) and then secure using a washer (item 5)
and a nut (item 17). Repeat this step for opposite end of the
cutterhead.
8. After adjusting the roller for correct height, tighten all nuts
and screws to the following torque settings:
Item 1 - tighten to 45 Nm (33 lbs.ft)
Item 15 & 16 - tighten to 70 Nm (51.6 lbs.ft)
9. Grease the roller grease nipples until grease is expelled
around the end caps.
NOTE: Toro recommend an anti-seize grease known as
BP Keenomax L2.
10. Fix the serial label (item 20) adjacent to the cutterhead
serial number label.
