spacerintheheightofcutadjusteranddoesnot
requiretherollerguide.
1.Removetherollerguide.
2.Removethecompleterollerandheight-of-cut
mechanismbyunlockingthedomenutsand
removingthedomenutsandlocknuts.
3.Slidetherollerandheight-of-cutadjustersoutof
thehousings.
4.Removethethinspacers.
5.Installthecompleterollerandheight-of-cut
mechanism.
Operation
CuttingUnitGeneral
Information
Itisimportanttokeeptheailbladessharpandin
goodconditiontoensuregoodcuttingperformance,
minimumpowerconsumption,andgoodqualityofcut.
Theailheadisanecutailandshouldonlybe
usedformaintaininggrass.Itisrecommendedthata
maximumof1/3ofthetotalgrasslengthisremoved
whencut.
Thescraperwiresarettedtoremovedebrisfromthe
roller;indryconditionsthesemaynotberequiredand
itisrecommendedthattheyareremoved.Indampor
wetconditions,ensurethatthescraperwiresdonot
getpluggedwithdebris.
Thecuttingunitoatsandcanpivotlaterallytofollow
groundcontours.
Thecuttingunitsaredesignedtobeoperatedatfull
enginespeed.Adjusttheforwardspeedtosuitthe
grassconditionsandtonotoverloadthecutting-unit
motorsorthecuttingunits.Thelowertheforward
speed,thebetterthequalityofcutandafter-cut
appearance.
AdjustingtheHeightofCut
Note:Theheightofcutisdeterminedbythe
rearroller.Bladewear,worncutting-unitpivots,
bent/damagedcutting-unitpivotshafts,and
bent/damagedarmscanaffecttheheight-of-cut
setting.
1.Positionthemachineonalevelsurface,lower
thecuttingunits,shutofftheengine,setthe
parkingbrake,andremovethekeyfromthe
ignitionswitch.
2.Turntheadjusting-nutassemblyonbothends
clockwisetodecreasetheheightofcutor
counter-clockwisetoincreasetheheightofcut
(Figure6).
