CheckingtheRotor
Bearings
ServiceInterval:Every50hours—Checkfor
excessiveplayintherotorbearings.
Important:Weargloveswhencheckingtherotor
bearings.
1.Movethemachineontoalevelsurfaceand
engagetheparkingbrake.
2.Raisecuttingunit,shutofftheengine,remove
thekey,andwaitforallmovingpartstostop.
3.Supportthecuttingunitwithjackstands.
4.Griptherotorateachendandcheckfor
excessiveendplay;iftherotorhasexcessend
play,itmayneedtobereplaced;contactyour
authorizedT orodistributor.
SharpeningtheBlades
WARNING
Usingagrinderinanunsafemannercould
causeseriouspersonalinjuryorproperty
damage.
Ensurethatthepersonsharpeningtheblades
hasbeenadequatelytrainedinhowtosafely
useahand-heldgrinder.
Useananglegrindertosharpentheangledgrinding
surfaceonthebackoftheailblade(Figure32).
Important:Donotgrindthefrontfaceoftheail
blade.
Whilegrindingtheblade,keepthecuttingedge
perfectlyhorizontalandtheangledsurfaceattothe
ground(Figure32).
Usethegrindergentlyandensurethattheaildoes
notgethot;otherwise,thesteelwillloseitshardness.
Donotsharpenthebladespastthewearlinethatis
indicatedbythe5dots(Figure32).Ensurethatall
theailbladesaresharpenedequallytomaintainthe
balanceofeachrotor.
Keepanewbladeasareferenceandrefertoitwhen
grinding.
