ReplacingtheBlades
ServiceInterval:Yearly—Replacetheblades.
Tomaintainbalance,replacebladesonlyasan
opposedpairorawholerotoratatime.Alsoreplace
thebushing,thebolt,andthelocknutwhenyou
replaceablade.Thereare2servicekitsavailablefor
bladereplacement;refertothePartsCatalog.
1.Raisethecuttingunitandsecureitwithjack
stands.
2.Engagetheparkingbrake,shutofftheengine,
andremovethekey.
3.Turntherotorslowlybyhandsothateachrow
ofailsareinthedesiredpositionandyoucan
easilyaccessthem.
4.Removeanydebrisfromtheboltheadandthe
nutandcleantheprotrudingthreadswithawire
brush.
5.Markthepositionoftheboltheadsothatyou
canreplacetheboltsfromthesameside.
6.Holdingthebladeinaragorpaddedglove,
removethenut,bolt,bushing,andblade(Figure
33).
Note:Ifneeded,applypenetratingoiltothe
threadstomakethenuteasiertoremove.

Removethegrassbuildupunderthecuttingunitdaily.
1.Parkthemachineonalevelsurface,raisethe
cuttingunittotheTRANSPORTposition,engage
theparkingbrake,shutofftheengine,and
removethekey.
2.Thoroughlycleantheundersideofthecutting
unitwithwater.
