Usingyourheel,movethemow/transportslide(Figure
31)tothelefttotransportandtotherighttomow.The
cuttingunitsoperateonlyinthemowposition.
Important:Themowspeedissetatthefactoryto
9.7km/h(6mph).Itcanbeincreasedordecreased
byadjustingthespeedstopscrew(Figure32).

TiltSteeringLever
Pullthetiltsteeringlever(Figure31)backtoadjust
thesteeringwheeltothedesiredposition,thenpush
theleverforwardtotighten.
IgnitionSwitch
Theignitionswitch(Figure33),whichisusedtostart,
shutoff,andpreheattheengine,has3positions:
OFF,ON/PREHEAT,andSTART.Rotatethekeytothe
ON/PREHEATpositionuntiltheglowplugindicatorlight
goesout(approximately7seconds);thenrotatethe
keytotheSTARTpositiontoengagethestartermotor.
Releasethekeywhentheenginestarts.Thekey
automaticallymovestotheON/RUNposition.T oshut
offtheengine,rotatethekeytotheOFFpositionand
removethekeyfromtheswitchtopreventaccidental
starting.

positions:ENGAGEandDISENGAGE.Therockerswitch
operatesasolenoidvalveonthevalvebanktodrive
thecuttingunits.
HourMeter
Thehourmeter(Figure33)indicatesthetotalhoursof
machineoperation.Thehourmeterstartstofunction
wheneverthekeyswitchison.
CuttingUnitShiftLever
Usethecuttingunitshiftlevertoraiseandlowerthe
cuttingunitsasfollows:
•Tolowerthecuttingunitstotheground,movethe
cuttingunitshiftlever(Figure33)forward.
Note:Youdonotneedtoholdtheleverinthe
forwardpositionwhilethecuttingunitsarelowered.
•Toraisethecuttingunits,pulltheshiftlever
rearwardtotheRAISEposition.
Note:Youcannotlowerthecuttingunitsunlessthe
engineisrunning,andthecuttingunitsdonotrunin
theraisedposition.
