ServiceInterval:Beforeeachuseordaily
CAUTION
Ifthesafetyinterlockswitchesare
disconnectedordamaged,themachinecould
operateunexpectedly,causingpersonal
injury.
•Donottamperwiththeinterlockswitches.
•Checktheoperationoftheinterlock
switchesdailyandreplaceanydamaged
switchesbeforeoperatingthemachine.
1.Ensurethatallbystandersareawayfromthe
areaofoperation,andkeephandsandfeet
awayfromthecuttingunits.
2.Whilesittingontheseat,theenginemustnot
startwitheitherthecuttingunitswitchengaged
orthetractionpedalengaged.Correctthe
problemifitisnotoperatingproperly.
3.Whilesittingontheseat,putthetractionpedal
inneutral,disengagetheparkingbrake,and
setthecuttingunitswitchintheOFFposition.
Theengineshouldstart.Risefromtheseatand
slowlypressthetractionpedal,andtheengine
shouldshutoffin1to3seconds.Correctthe
problemifitisnotoperatingproperly.
Note:Themachineisequippedwithaninterlock
switchontheparkingbrake.Theengineshutsoffif
youpressthetractionpedalwiththeparkingbrake
engaged.

•Theowner/operatorcanpreventandisresponsible
foraccidentsthatmaycausepersonalinjuryor
propertydamage.
•Wearappropriateclothing,includingeye
protection;longpants;substantial,slip-resistant
footwear;andhearingprotection.Tiebacklong
hairanddonotwearlooseclothingorloose
jewelry.
•Donotoperatethemachinewhileill,tired,or
undertheinuenceofalcoholordrugs.
•Useyourfullattentionwhileoperatingthe
machine.Donotengageinanyactivitythat
causesdistractions;otherwise,injuryorproperty
damagemayoccur.
•Beforeyoustarttheengine,ensurethatalldrives
areinneutral,theparkingbrakeisengaged,and
youareintheoperatingposition.
•Donotcarrypassengersonthemachineandkeep
bystandersandchildrenoutoftheoperatingarea.
•Operatethemachineonlyingoodvisibilitytoavoid
holesorhiddenhazards.
•Avoidmowingonwetgrass.Reducedtraction
couldcausethemachinetoslide.
•Keepyourhandsandfeetawayfromthecutting
units.
•Lookbehindanddownbeforebackinguptobe
sureofaclearpath.
•Usecarewhenapproachingblindcorners,shrubs,
trees,orotherobjectsthatmayobscureyour
vision.
•Stopthecuttingunitswheneveryouarenot
mowing.
•Slowdownandusecautionwhenmakingturns
andcrossingroadsandsidewalkswiththe
machine.Alwaysyieldtheright-of-way.
•Operatetheengineonlyinwell-ventilatedareas.
Exhaustgasescontaincarbonmonoxide,which
islethalifinhaled.
•Donotleavearunningmachineunattended.
•Beforeyouleavetheoperator’sposition,dothe
following:
–Parkthemachineonalevelsurface.
–Disengageandlowerthecuttingunits.
–Engagetheparkingbrake.
–Shutofftheengineandremovethekey.
–Waitforallmovementtostop.
