Note:Whenaddingcoolanttothemachine,youwill
notdamagethecoolingsystembymixingconventional
(IAT)antifreezewithextended-life(OAT)antifreeze.
However,mixingantifreezetypesdegradesthelong
life/extendedlifeattributeoftheOATformulation.
Important:Theserviceintervalofconventional
(IAT)andextended-life(OAT)blended-coolant
mixture—atanyratio—lastsaslongasthecoolant
withtheshortestserviceinterval:2years.
CheckingtheCoolantLevel
ServiceInterval:Beforeeachuseordaily
Coolingsystemcapacity:approximately5.7L(6US
qt)
CAUTION
Iftheenginehasbeenrunning,the
pressurized,hotcoolantcanescapeand
causeburns.
Donotopentheradiatorcapwhenthe
engineisrunning.
Usearagwhenopeningtheradiatorcap,
andopenthecapslowlytoallowsteamto
escape.
1.Parkthemachineonalevelsurface,lowerthe
cuttingunits,engagetheparkingbrake,shutoff
theengine,andremovethekey.
2.Unlatchandopenthehood.
3.Checkthecoolantlevelintheexpansiontank
(Figure64).

marksonthesideofthetank.
4.Ifthecoolantlevelislowremovetheexpansion
tankcap,addthespeciedcoolanttothetank
untilthecoolantlevelismidwaybetweenthe
marksonthesideofthetank,andassemblethe
captothetank.
Important:Donotoverlltheexpansion
tank.

Cleanthemmorefrequentlyindirtyconditions.
1.Parkthemachineonalevelsurface,lowerthe
cuttingunits,shutofftheengine,engagethe
parkingbrake,andremovethekeyfromthe
ignitionswitch.
2.Raisethehood.
3.Cleantheengineareathoroughlyofalldebris.
4.Removetheaccesspanel.
5.Cleanbothsidesoftheradiatorareathoroughly
withwaterorcompressedair(Figure65).
