Operation
Note:Determinetheleftandrightsidesofthemachine
fromthenormaloperatingposition.
MakingAdjustments
AdjustingtheBedknifetotheReel
Usethisproceduretosetthebedknifetothereelandtocheck
theconditionofthereelandbedknifeandtheirinteraction.
Aftercompletingthisprocedure,alwaystestthecutting
unitperformanceunderyoureldconditions.Youmay
needtomakefurtheradjustmentstoobtainoptimalcutting
performance.
Important:Donotovertightenthebedknifetothereel
oryouwilldamageit.
•Afterbacklappingthecuttingunitorgrindingthereel,you
mayneedtomowwiththecuttingunitforafewminutes
andthenperformthisproceduretoadjustthebedknifeto
thereelasthereelandbedknifeadjusttoeachother.
•Youmayneedadditionaladjustmentsiftheturfis
extremelydenseoryourcuttingheightisverylow.
Youwillneedthefollowingtoolstocompletethisprocedure:
•Shim0.0508mm(0.002inch)—ToroPartNo.125-5611
•Cuttingperformancepaper—ToroPartNo.125-5610
1.Positionthecuttingunitonaat,levelworksurface.
Turnthebedbar-adjustingscrewscounterclockwise
toensurethatthebedbardoesnotcontactthereel
(Figure11).

2.Tipthecuttingunittoexposethebedknifeandthereel.
Important:Makesurethatthenutsontheback
endofthebedbar-adjustingscrewsarenotresting
ontheworksurface(Figure11).
3.Rotatethereelsothatabladecrossesthebedknife
approximately25mm(1inch)infromtheendofthe
bedknifeontherightsideofthecuttingunit.Putting
anidentifyingmarkonthisbladewillmakesubsequent
